At the age of five, Millard discovered his God-given talent for percussion, mastering every instrument he encountered. By nine, he had found his passion for drums, and by twelve, he was performing with Rance Allen. Throughout his teenage years, he traveled extensively and recorded with VOS (Voices of Salvation). Today, Millard is a versatile producer, arranger, songwriter, and musician in gospel, Christian, jazz, and R&B.
In 1990, he met Minister Thomas A. Whitfield, who became a mentor and father figure, guiding him into the world of professional gospel music with Thomas Whitfield and Company. Under Whitfield’s influence, Millard developed his skills in composition and arrangement. After Whitfield's passing, his spirit and talent continued to inspire Millard’s music.
Millard has performed with renowned gospel artists like Commissioned, The Clark Sisters, and Kirk Franklin, and has contributed to numerous gospel plays and projects for Detroit artists. In 1995, he founded 3Ms Productions, producing over 300 works and 550 compositions. He launched his Radical Praise Ministry (R.P.M.) in 1999, releasing the debut CD, *This Must Be Heard*, in 2005, which blended contemporary and traditional gospel music.
In 2006, Millard moved to Nashville and opened Run of the Mill Music Group, helping artists with demos and cover songs. After 15 years of artist development, he returned to the studio and began his latest project, "Millard Thomas Jr. and Friends", in 2023.
Millard’s prayer is that his music brings healing, blessings, and salvation to lives and souls through the gifts God has given him. Amen.
